There are several excellent reasons to choose Florida Metropolitan University . In addition to traditional classroom lectures, FMU students receive numerous opportunities for “hands-on” experience, using the techniques and tools of professionals working in their course of study. These classes are taught by the same professionals who back up theoretical knowledge with real-world experience. Because of small class sizes, students have greater access to personalized one-on-one academic guidance. In addition, FMU’s Learning Center functions as an additional resource enabling students to receive extra assistance in all classes from their instructors. Finally, computer and other equipment at FMU campuses are the “latest and the greatest” as facilities strive to stay at the cutting edge of technology.

FMU offers flexible class scheduling for those pursuing a degree while working full-time. Classes are held at night and on weekends as well as during the day Monday through Friday. For additional convenience and flexibility, FMU offers several courses online as well. While providing convenience, online courses also pose particular challenges. Online classes are similar in content to traditional ones, but as students will be working on their own, a great deal of maturity, individual effort and initiative is required in order to succeed. Participation and class activities are held weekly, and students failing to participate may be withdrawn for the class. Prior to enrolling in online classes, the student should first consult with an advisor. If both agree that online courses are appropriate, the student should then make sure that his or her computer meets the minimum system requirements in terms of RAM and processing power, and establish an email account.

As students approach the end of their degree programs, they will find many resources available to assist them in securing regular employment in their fields of study. Career Services Assistance is staffed by full-time personnel who are dedicated to assisting students with resume preparation, honing interview skills and finding full-time employment opportunities.

Florida Metropolitan University offers degrees at the Associates, Bachelors and Masters level, as well as numerous professional certification and training programs and pre-professional courses of study for students planning to go on to careers in law and medicine. Not all programs are available at all campuses, so prospective students are advised to inquire at the campus they plan to attend.

Associates and/or Bachelors Degrees are offered in Accounting, Assisted Living, Applied Management, Business, Information and Computer Technologies, Criminal Justice and Investigation, Film and Video Production, Health Care Administration, National Security, Hospitality Management, Message Therapy, and Nursing. Students can also train as Paralegals or Pharmacy Technicians.

Master’s programs are offered in Business Administration and Criminal Justice. FMU’s MBA program is considered to be one of the finest in the world. Offered through FMU’s Graduate School of Business, the MBA program is designed to enhance one’s business and leadership skills and knowledge, addressing the challenges posed by an increasingly hypercompetitive, globalized economy. The MS in Criminal Justice focuses on law enforcement administration, corrections, juvenile justice, narcotic issues and opportunities in the private security industry. Candidates in this field study advanced topics and levels of research, policy and management.

Most students that attend Florida Metropolitan University receive one or more types of financial aid. As applying for student financial aid can be a cumbersome and frustrating process, FMU maintains a qualified staff of Student Finance Officers who are available to assist with the process. At FMU, this process has been reduced to three simple steps:

  • Meet with a Student Finance Officer, who will assist the student in determining programs for which to apply;
  • Complete the Financial Aid Application, a simple online form designed to assist the Student Finance Officer in determining how much the student is eligible to receive;

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, which will open the door to numerous Federal grant and loan programs for which they may be eligible.
